For the individual investor, my "Roll" of "Stockprice" is best.
again, it is a "OK" one. when you "rollyo" into it, be careful the advertising sites on teh top. just go into your "roll" sites directly.

LibraryThing
All I have learn so far are really excited, but not this one. I mean, it is OK to create your own catalog or book shelves, but seems not that much helpful for work or lifestyle. I prefer amazon.com or Barnes & Noble online or worldcat.

Image generator
As far as I explore, I like the FD Toys (http://bighugelabs.com/flickr/) better. It has more choice and easy to use. The generators are helping me to create all kinds of image and text for different interesting things that I can show my kids. My kids love them, too. It is fun, and it is creative.
Topix
Regarding the RSS, the Topix is great. it is easiest to understand and use. The Feedster is OK but not as simple as Topix. The Syndic8 is too complicated and I don't like it at all. The Topix is the one step search and all of the results will feed your need. I wish I would have know it early.

RSS
Today, I have create my RSS account from Bloglines and subscribe to 30 newsfeeds to my reader. It is fun. The benefit from RSS, to me, is using the minimum time to know the most of the news and events everyday, especially related to the reference desk-- stock market, weather, company news, tech news, new products... Technology is powerful!

Web Overload
Today, Christopher Null posted his article "Could Video Sharing Bring Down the Internet?" in Yahoo. tech. page (http://tech.yahoo.com/blogs/null/39205).
Here is the interesting fact: "Cisco says consumer video (YouTube and the like) is now nine percent of all traffic and will hit 30 percent by 2011. And naturally, as more companies like Apple and Amazon sell downloadable video in high quality, that will eat up bandwidth as well. Doing the math from the story: 1 hour of high-quality video is equal in size to 25,000 email messages". Is the web overloading in your computer?

Boscobel
We visit the Boscobel on the Columbus weekend.
Boscobel is situated on the east bank of the Hudson River opposite the United States Military Academy at West Point. The house museum and surrounding grounds and gardens are situated on 45 acres. The views are so beautiful.

What I learn from 7 1/2 Habits
What is “Easy” and what is “Hard”
After watched the video presentation about 7 ½ habits for life-long learning. I felt that all these habits were essentials for learning. You have to follow and obey them no matter “easy” or “hard” if you really want to learn something.
Since it is the assignment, I will score them from 1 (easiest) to 10 (hardest):
1, Begin with the end in mind – 2
Set up the goal is easy. Everyone has set up some goals in sometime for some reasons. Even you don’t need to know why and how.
2, Accept responsibility for your own learning – 4
It is easy to say but a little hard to complete. For example, signing up for the training class, you will say, I am too busy now, maybe next time. You really need to keep it in your mind what you need to do and how you can achieve it.
3, View problems as challenges – 6
Again, it is easy to say but not easy to do. The main issue is how we treat the problems and find the alternative ways to deal with the problems. Sometime you can’t solve the problems by yourself. How to find help (related to habit 5) is the most important when you fact the big problems.
4, Have confidence in yourself as a competent, effective learner – 2
It is not a problem for me.
5, Create your own learning toolbox – 4
Yes, everyone needs to create his/her toolbox. But the main point is you need to choose the right tools. Fortunately, working in the Library, I can select the right tools for my learning and studying. This is one of the biggest benefits becoming a reference librarian.
6, Use technology to your advantage – 4
I know where I can find and utilize the high-tech even I am not so crazy about it.
7, Teach mentor others – 4
I always try to teach something to my kids. Sometime they listen but sometime they don’t. I also have my duties to train the new librarians. We could learn together.
8, Play – 7
It is the problem; I don’t have enough time for it. I know it is important, but just could not find enough time to play with it.
